Responsible Party

1. Statement

Failure to comply with this policy may result in ticketing; repeated violators may have privileges suspended or taken away.

2. Authorized Use

Workplace charging is only available at the designated charging stations located at the parking lot in front of the SLTC. In general, the following rules apply:

  • Employees and students who own or lease an electric vehicle may use Charge Point charging station if they are an enrolled participant in the workplace charging program.
  • The user must set up an account with Charge Point; they will send you all the necessary documents to complete. Follow link
  • As members of the public, ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø students and employees do not need ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø approval to charge between the hours of 6:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. If you require access outside this window, you may apply to do so through your Charge Point account; ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø program administrators will grant approval.
  • There is a four-hour limit per day on charging. Currently, there is no monetary charge, but this is subject to change in the future.
  • On or before the four-hour limit you must move your vehicle, so the charging station is available for continued use. Exceeding the parking limit will result in a ticket with a $20 fine.
  • The charging station will be available to the public between the hours of 7:00 am - 11:00 pm.

3. Charging Enrollment Process

For employees and students:

  • You must review the policy and procedures
  • Once enrolled, participants will be mailed a welcome kit by Charge Point, including a charging access badge once approved by the program administrators.
  • Peter Gess is the Senior Administrator for this program; he can be contacted at 501-450- 2953 or at his email: gess@hendrix.edu.

4. Cost

Four-hour charging is available to enrolled participants at no cost. This policy is subject to change at any time.

5. Useage Procedure and Etiquette

ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø College supports your decision to drive electric and asks that you follow the following rules to make the most of this initiative:

1.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Safety first: Practice safe charging. This means properly managing the cord during and after charging. Avoid overstretching the cord, and do not place it such that it comes in contact with another vehicle.

2.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Parking: Internal combustion vehicles - including hybrid vehicles - are prohibited from parking in charge spots designated for plug-in cars. Contact Public Safety is this occurs at 501-450-7711.

3.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Signage : Electric vehicles must adhere to the posted signs.

4.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Usage: Don't charge if you don't need a charge. Leave the spot free for another electric vehicle driver who might need the charge to complete his or her travels without gasoline. Your home charger should be your primary charging location, use the workplace charging to augment your home charge. Over time the number of electric vehicles on campus will exceed the number of charging stations- and therefore you should only utilize them when necessary.

5.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Campus charging is a privilege, not a right: Remember, charging your vehicle in a campus provided charge spot is a privilege and is available on a first come first serve basis. ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø College does not guarantee that a charging station will be available for participants' use.

6.ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Access: Do not share your Charge Point access badge with others
